Ups and Downs..

Things have been going well working on the odin project. I have been doing a little “back and forth” between their web development 101(HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery) and their ruby course. I am trying to stay up to date with the odin ruby study group I am involved with, but have been really focused on the web development 101 section.

So you may be asking yourself what’s up with my blog title. Well I have been having some trouble thinking logically. Maybe there is a better way I could phrase that, but I spent probably 2-3 hours on one of the project euler problems (problem 2). Needless to say, this was frustrating. I was working with JavaScript to solve and eventually I did, but not without a lot of “looking around”. I feel like a problem like that should take me 10 - 15 minutes to solve, not a couple of hours. I am writing it off as part of the learning experience, no one said it would be easy. These kind of logical computational problems are going on my “review” list and I definitely plan to come back and spend some more time practicing.

On the up side, jQuery is great! Maybe, I am crazy and just haven’t messed with it enough but it seems to make sense to me. I really enjoyed finishing up the codecademy jQuery course. Sometimes the syntax can be a little funny, but aside from that it seems like the possibilities of what you can do are endless. I am really looking forward to getting started on my javascript/jQuery project over at odin. Maybe when I finish I can finally contribute something to the site!
