First Week Complete!

So, my first week dedicated to coding has come to an end. I managed to log 19hrs and 21min. I was a little disappointed it wasn’t my 20hr goal but close. This week that will change. Anyway, it’s a lot of work and I welcome it. I spent most of last week working on Chris Pine’s “Learn to Program”. In fact, it went fairly quickly, so much so that I plan later on to go back and re-do the exercises just to make sure all the info stuck.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have been starting to follow along with the odin project curriculum. Last night I finished the Google homepage clone. You can check it out on my github here. That went well, I did struggle a bit with CSS layout especially with padding, margins, etc. I would think something I was doing would make an element go one way and it would go another…I managed to work through it, but I definitely feel I could spend some more time with HTML/CSS to really nail it down, and I will at some point but for now were on to Javascript.

I’ve just started with the codecademy Javascript and realized that last summer I had basically finished it (70% anyway). Needless to say, I am going through everything once more to refresh my memory. Stay tuned.
